Colours

Posted by Nanette Schuppers at Dec 19, 2008 12:36AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Dear all,
The annual Colours night is coming up again! During that event we will battle it out with the Trinity boxing club and hopefully hold on to the Fred Tiedt cup for another (and third consecutive) year. The event is scheduled for the 2nd or 3rd of February and will be organised by Trinity.
This is a great opportunity for novice boxers to compete and I would like to encourage anyone (novice, junior or senior) who is interested to let either Jack, Charlie, Tommy or me know.
Training has stopped for the moment but will recommence on Thursday 8 January between 6 and 8pm. From 19 January we will be back at the ordinary times, Monday 5-7, Wednesday 8-10, Friday 7-9.
For now, I wish you a very merry Christmas and a good start of the New Year. Just keep in mind that every kilo gained over the holidays will have to come off again in the first weeks of training ;)

end of term

Posted by Nanette Schuppers at Nov 28, 2008 4:23AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Hi all,
Since this Friday is the last day of term and most will be out celebrating, we’ve cancelled training (apologies for the late notice).
From now till the start of the second semester training will be on Thursday between 6 and 8 pm for those interested in not letting all the hard work go to waste. For everyone else, we’re back on Monday 19 January with training at the usual times.
Enjoy the break, good luck with the exams, and although it’s a bit early, merry Christmas.

Social Night

Posted by Nanette Schuppers at Nov 23, 2008 10:30AM PST ( 1 Comment )

This weekend the Junior team did absolutely fantasticly in Cork. UCD finished the tournament in first place with 28 points, with Carlow IT in second place with 15 points. Of the 8 entries 6 boxers made it to the finals. Of the 6, 4 won and 2 became runner up.
To celebrate this wonderful outcome (and to get to know each other in a slightly more social setting) we will have a social event in Forum Bar/Centre Bar on Wednesday 26 November. We’ll round up training at 9 PM and move over to the bar afterwards.
Hope to see you all there.
